Did you know there have been previous creations upon this earth? That's what the evidence would seem to indicate. Evidence certainly indicates "the heavens and earth" are older than six thousand years. Evidence also shows that a Creator is behind the design of life. Utter lack of evidence rules out naturalistic explanations of origins, and makes it impossible to call such views "science." We believe there is a divine creator, and that He wishes to interact with His creation. Since Yahweh of the Jewish Scriptures is the only God who actually interacts with mankind's history and destiny, we believe Him to be this supernatural Creator and therefore structure our presentation upon the creation narrative in Genesis 1.
Pictured Above is an illustration of an Old Earth Creationist position known as the "Gap Theory" (or "Ruin-Reconstitution" theory). There are a large number of fundamentalist Christians who hold strictly to the historical-grammatical method of interpretation, who see the literal six day supernatural creation account in Genesis occurring some six to eight thousand years ago, the Fall, the Noahic Flood, and etc., and see also the existence of what appears to be a gap in Genesis 1:1-2, and missing information about what took place during that time. The Bible doesn't tell us about the previous creations upon this earth, but once the concept of Dispensational Theology is grasped, the reason we were not told of these ancient creations becomes clear. A key idea we wish to show here at dispensationalfriends.org is how a Scriptural phenomenon in Daniel 9 might be applied also to Genesis 1. The result is a shockingly simple, realistic explanation of our existence which generally makes the best sense of all evidence, and gives deeper meaning to God's creation, both past and future... both angelic and human.
However, a wide range of opinion exists over what may have taken place during that span of time. From what we've unearthed, there seems to be an entire array of past creations. But are the ruins of these old creations sufficiently preserved that we may discern and understand them thoroughly?
Some think there was a man-like creature in the past, others do not. Some see the angels involved, others do not. Some see many previous creations, others see roughly one. Some see it as pertaining to angelic activity only, as in, the fall of Lucifer and the demons, but they attribute nothing of natural history to the span. Most people who hold it acknowledge the fact a gap exists in Genesis 1:1-2, but have no real interest or insight on what may have happened during that span of time.
Why does variety of opinion exist?
It is because we know a gap is present in the text, but God has not disclosed to us what happened during that time. Thomas Chalmers said:
"The detailed history of creation in the first chapter of Genesis begins at the middle of the second verse; and what precedes might be understood as an introductory sentence, by which we are most appositely told, both that God created all things at the first, and that, afterwards, by what interval of time it is not specified, the earth lapsed into a chaos, from the darkness and disorder of which the present system or economy of things was made to arise. Between the initial act and the details of Genesis, the world, for aught we know, might have been the theatre of many revolutions, the traces of which geology may still investigate." - Thomas Chalmers, 1814 Lecture in Edinburgh, quoted by Edward Hitchcock, The Religion of Geology, Collins, Glasgow, 1851, p.52.
In our article entitled The Dispensational Time-frame Principle in the Genesis Creation Account, we try to illustrate that if Dispensational Theology is true, and if we then apply the concept to Genesis 1:1-2--where a suspected gap had been noted by non-dispensationalists beforehand--we may lend credence to the fact of the gap's existence, and may find help in discerning what happened during that time.
When we stand from today's perspective and look back upon the prophetically outlined course of events for Israel, we see that this present age forms a "gap" in the record. The reason is because this age in which we live was not revealed to Israel, and does not pertain to Israel's destiny. Perhaps a gap of a different kind, a second gap, exists in the overall Scriptural record. If true, then a "non-human" portion of the Earth's record has been concealed out of our view, consistent with the phenomenon as we know it.
Something which must be kept in mind in this section of the website is what God had told Job when wondering about God's creation.
Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said, Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge? Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me. Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding. Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it? Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof; when the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, as if it had issued out of the womb? When I made the cloud the garment thereof, and thick darkness a swaddlingband for it, and brake up for it my decreed place, and set bars and doors, and said, Hitherto shalt thou come, but no further: and here shall thy proud waves be stayed? - Job 38:1-11
A lot of the things talked about in this section will be helpful to all Christians, such as discussions on the Noahic Flood, Mesopotamia as the true cradle of humankind, the Tower of Babel, and etc. Other articles rely on scientific evidence only, with little or no reference to the Bible, and which concepts you may agree with or disagree with but it really doesn't matter. Be a discerning reader, and simply enjoy the articles here. This part of the site is not nearly as serious or important as the section on Dispensational Theology.
The view presented here is similar to the others under the larger umbrella of "Gap Theory," but you will notice unique features and some interesting ideas and evidences you probably haven't heard or considered before. Everything said in this section of the site is really just a side subject, and I don't expect other Gap Theory proponents to accept it right down the line. It is more of a framework which the individual may take and adjust to his or her own convictions and preferences.
"...refers to the dateless past, and gives scope for all the geologic ages... clearly indicate that the earth had undergone a cataclysmic change as the result of a divine judgment... the earth bears everywhere the marks of such a catastrophe... there are not wanting intimations which connect it with a previous testing and fall of angels..." C.I. Scofield

"The Hebrew Bible commences with a majestic cosmological account of the genesis of the universe. According to Genesis 1:1–2:4a (the P account according to the documentary hypothesis), God created the world in six days and rested on the seventh day. The verb br' used in the very first sentence of the creation story does not imply, as most traditional commentators believed, creation ex nihilo, a concept that first appears in II Maccabees 7:28, but denotes, as it does throughout the Bible, a divine activity that is effortlessly effected. The opening sentence in the story – many commentators think (but see Cassuto, Genesis, 1, pp. 19–20) – begins with a temporal clause, 'When God began to create the heaven and the earth' (Gen. 1:1), continues with a circumstantial clause telling of the existence of the darkness and void (1:2), and then in two main clauses (1:3) relates the first act by which God, by divine fiat, created cosmic order out of primeval chaos: 'God said, 'Let there be light,' and there was light.'"
Dr. Michael Heiser on Genesis 1:1-3
The Gap Theory provides for a deeper understanding of the angels, their ongoing relationship to God, how redeemed man pertains to their eternal destiny. Many obscure references in the New Testament, and incidents of Satanic attack on the righteous such as Job are appreciated in this view, while being neglected by the others. Some people don't really know why we find angels in the Bible at all. The Gap Theory has the answers.

Was There a "Man" in the Previous World?
The "birds" of the ancient mesozoic creation(s) were flying machines like pterosaurs, and miniature dragons like the Archeoptryx and this newly discovered wonder mentioned in the following video. Watch as evolutionists pretend this evidence brings them closer to an answer for their speculative so-called "science."
Beautiful and Unique Variety:
The ancient mesozoic creation does not contain a boring, survivalistic record of gradualism. It reveals a beautiful, unique and complete world of it's own, completely unlike anything before or after. An example, the dinosaurs extended up into the arctic and is just what we should expect to find when a Creator--interested in life and beauty--is the force behind creation rather than mere survival of the fittest "force" which nobody can seem to define or set down on paper for us. It's amusing to hear the narrator talk so much about "evolution," despite the fact zero transitionals are ever found... EVER, despite the stasis that is always found... ALWAYS, despite the fact evolutionists were completely shocked and caught by surprise by this discovery, and this whole issue is really just a big fat absurdity for evolutionism to deal with altogether. This discovery of course creates about fifty billion more "missing links" for the "scientists" to ignore.
